A wonderful escape

GREAT LOCATION
A fantastic couple of weeks in Shetland. Brekka Lodge is a brilliant base for exploring the whole island. Very well equipped - it has everything you'd want for a comfortable stay. The little bay a few minutes walk away is prefect for a swim - we were joined by seals a few times. We are sure to be back.

Wonderful Relaxing Stay With Friends
We had friends visiting from South and had a wonderful relaxing break at Brekka Lodge! Sheila was so helpful with the booking as we were quite late notice.
The lodge was great and had everything we needed, it was very spacious and had a lovely shower! Our favourite parts were the lovely bay just a couple of minutes walk away which was perfect for a morning swim and the views from the lodge are beautiful! Great location for exploring loads of Shetland’s wonderful scenery. Would definitely stay at Brekka again! Thank you.

FIRST BUT NOT LAST VISIT
Our first vist to Shetland and it definately won't be our last. So much to see and do, we have only skimmed the surface. Brekka Lodge is so cozy and comfortable, we could not have wanted for anything. Thank you Sheila and George for everything, we will be back.

A Fabulous Home-From-Home
Our 6th visit to Brekka Lodge! Sheila and George provide a fabulous home-from-home, and we have all enjoyed ourselves both in the house and out on our adventures. So many lovely walks and pieces of cake :-) We LOVE watching the boats and ferries going past our windows. We built a huge engineering work at the Fladdabister beach, including a small dry stone wall. We saw lots of birds and animals, like curlew, in the Brekka garden, and seals and dolphins down at the shore! Steve saw the Aurora on the very last night.
Being Here Is A Joy.
Brekka is so warm, comfortable and well equipped that just being here is a joy. Thank you Sheila and George for such a wonderful holiday. We hope to return one day.

We Will Definately Return.

The property is in an excellent location to explore all the islands in the Shetland group. It's located in a quiet and peaceful spot with fantastic views of the sea and Bressay Island in the distance. Somehow our week there passed far too quickly which is why we will definitely make a return visit to Brekka Lodge at some stage in the future.

We simply wouldn't want to stay anywhere else
This was our second stay at Brekka Lodge & it was just as good, if not better than the first. The Lodge is immaculate, beautifully presented & comfortable, with wonderful views of the countryside & coast. The owners are incredibly welcoming, friendly & helpful without being intrusive. You really won't want for anything, when we come to Shetland we simply wouldn't want to stay anywhere else, it feels like coming home!

Absolutely loved our stay
We couldn't have wished for a better base for our visit to Shetland. It was well equipped, warm and so close to the beach. We absolutely loved it and will come back in the future - already checking out availability.

Stunning Aurora from the living room window
I was fortunate to book a long weekend at the lovely Brekka Lodge. I was delighted with the accommodation, setting and people. My trip was topped off with a stunning display of the Aurora Borealis, viewed from the Lodge living room window. A memory I won't forget. Thanks to the Keith's for a great stay.

We had a fantastic time at Brekka Lodge. It's a home from home - such a lot of care has gone into it. There are a lot of touches that you don't get elsewhere which we especially appreciated. Our highlight was watching the dolphins swim past on the shore a few minutes away from the Lodge. We loved our stay and look forward to coming back.

A Fantastic Holiday
Two weeks of walking, birds, seals, an otter, cliffs, beaches, ancient sites and so much more... The Lodge is a great place to stay - very comfortable and the views are magic - so calming. We went home relaxed having thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We will definately be back
Brilliant location and Brekka Lodge is a superb cottage. We had a fantastic week watching wildlife and sightseeing. We will definately come back to the beautiful Shetland Islands and will certainly be booking Brekka Lodge again. The welcome pack of local produce was also appreciated, thank you.
So much more that we imagined
A fabulous week at Brekka Lodge. The accommodation and aspect were all we could have wished for and more. Everything was fantastic, especially the comfy bed and super-powerful shower. The great kitchen was well equipped. Great views and just a short walk down to the beach where you are guaranteed to see at least curlew, terns, gannets, seals and so much more. Thanks to Sheila and George, fantastic hosts.

A wonderful spot and equally wonderful accommodation. So peaceful and tranquil. Snipes drumming, larks and curlews calling, fulmars down on the shore and the lambs added to the entertainment! Merits everyone of its 5 stars
We visited Shetland for "Up Helly Aa". It did not disappoint in anyway and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Brekka Lodge merits everyone of its TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence 5 stars. Book early
Our third visit to Shetland and Brekka Lodge, which is getting so popular we could only book a 7 night stay for next year - book early! A warm welcome from George and Sheila as always. The best accommodation
We have had a lovely holiday and see Shetland at its best with wonderful weather. Brekka Lodge is the best accommodation we have had with peace, quiet and fresh air. We would like to return in winter to experience a storm and the northern lights.
Beautiful Lodge With Amazing Views
My husband and I stayed for a week in July and had a lovely week walking, island hopping and bird watching. We loved Brekka Lodge and Shetland so much that we booked another week in January to see the Lerwick Up Helly Aa. We weren’t disappointed, it was an amazing experience which is a must and Brekka Lodge was the ideal base. Brekka Lodge has everything anyone could ask for. It overlooks the sea and has access to a cove where inquisitive seals swim. The Lodge itself is cosy and Sheila, the host, has thought of everything. There are large comfortable beds and plenty to do on a rainy day. We would love to stay again.

One of the best places we have stayed
Thank you for the lovely accommodation, one of the best we have ever stayed in. All very clean and comfortable. We loved the views of the passing ships and wildlife, the binos never left the table and we hardly watched the television. This was our first trip to Shetland and we loved it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Luxurious, comfortable, clean and warm lodge. We couldn't have asked for better accommodation for our week long holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There is a little bay only 2 minutes walk away which is perfect for catching the sunrise.

A PERFECT PLACE

MY THIRD STAY
My third visit to Brekka Lodge - superb, as ever. Very comfortable, very clean, everything just right for a visit to the incredible Shetland Islands
Lovely home away from home, can't imagine a better place to stay.
Brekka Lodge is an extremely comfortable, well appointed, and beautifully located home away from home. Everything we needed was provided, including beautiful views of the sea from the house and perfect weather (weather not guaranteed). It's a short walk down to the beach where we saw seals and the lime kiln ruins. The house is just a few minutes from Lerwick in the quiet countryside. We rarely saw a vehicle on the road but frequently saw the sheep and ponies in adjacent fields. We were five adults and found Brekka Lodge an ideal place for our week's vacation. I can't wait to return to Shetland and stay here again.

Brekka Lodge offers first class accommodation in a stunning location with sea views. The lounge is comfortably furnished and offers beautiful views out to sea. A TV and DVD player are provided, as well as a selection of books about Shetland. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need when self-catering and included a welcome pack of milk,butter, tea,coffee, oatcakes and chocolate brownies. Upstairs there are 2 large bedrooms and a bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle. Everything is very well maintained and immaculately clean. From the garden behind the lodge it is a short walk down to a small beach. Brekka Lodge is an excellent base for exploring Shetland and is only a few minutes from the main road and is only a 10 minute drive from Lerwick. The owners have thought of everything to ensure their guests have an enjoyable stay and I had such a good time that I have booked a return visit.
Special Place
Brekka Lodge is a rare find; a really well equipped, comfortable, clean house in a fabulous location. Ideally placed, 15 minutes from Lerwick and half an hour from Sumburgh, it is also 5 minutes walk from a rocky beach with resident seal. During our stay in September, the house was always warm. It is exceptionally well equipped throughout; kitchen utensils, laundry, local information, toys and baby equipment. However, it is the little things that make a holiday cottage a real home from home and Sheila and George provide all these:- milk, butter and homemade chocolate cake in the fridge, oatcakes, fresh flowers on the kitchen window sill, foam bath, tissues, coffee, tea, condiments etc. The bedrooms are large and they need to be to fit in the huge, comfortable beds and ample storage. Our 2 year old grandson loved the big bath and the bath toys. My abiding memory of Brekka Lodge will be the view from the living room window towards Bressay and Noss, especially as the sun rose. It is a very special place.
